The Committee also arranged overseas site-visit, symposiums and website presentation.
Its goals are to advance further the study of accreditation items and systems, and build up a system of peer review by JANPU, which will ultimately develop into evaluation by an accreditation agency.

Research Project

2006

On the basis of the results of 2005 questionnaire survey, the Committee arranged drafting of the evaluation standards for undergraduate and graduate curricula in nursing education as well as formulation of a system for implementation of evaluation, on the premise that nursing programs in universities and graduate schools would engage in peer review and cooperate with each other for advancing nursing education. The provisional evaluation standards at the end of 2006 consisted of 137 items in 12 areas for undergraduate curriculum, and 63 items in 10 areas for graduate curriculum.

2005

JANPU Committee for Creating Evaluation System on Nursing Programs in Universities sent out a questionnaire about the implementation and awareness of evaluation to all the institutional members, and obtained replies from more than half of the members stating that they “were eager for JANPU evaluation by peer review” or “would take JANPU accreditation depending on conditions”.
