2007 program for Certified Evaluation and Accreditation Organization accredited by MEXT

1. Backgrounds and Purpose of the Program

To ensure the internationally recognized and trusted quality of higher education, such systems as self-assessment/evaluation and accreditation evaluation have an extremely important role.
It is important that, in regard to accreditation evaluation (institutional accreditation, professional graduate school accreditation by the profession), pluralistic evaluation creatively designed by plural evaluation agencies should be performed and, in regard to self-assessment/evaluation, evaluation by use of appropriate evaluation items be performed, and the results of these evaluations be used by the universities, etc. to maintain and improve the quality of their education and research.
Pluralistic and diverse evaluation examples have been collected and offered to universities as references for establishment of standards and methods of evaluation in accreditation evaluation for institutions and professions, which it is hoped would help enrich self-assessment/evaluation and lead to the improvement of quality of the evaluation of universities.
